It's a nice toy. I asked for this for christmas as my last cd-based mp3 player couldn't handle jogging very well - this player is flash card based and can take the shock. The size (3.5 x 1.1 x 0.6 in) makes it easy to carry it around to just about anywhere and the included headphones were, suprisingly, usable.
The backlight is ample and the button layout easy to master. I've been able to get around 10 hours of battery time, and recharging is a snap (just plug it into a USB port). On the end of the player is a cap where you can extend to a computer with the included USB cord. Using Windows XP I was able to easily connect, charge up, and upload my files. Fortunately, no software is necessary and Windows will automatically recognize it as a device and add a drive to My Computer.
Linux use is easy, just mount on a kernel with USB support - I've tested the player with 2.2 and 2.6.
I haven't gotten much use from the FM tuner but it is there if you need it. It will record the radio as well as your voice (again, a feature I haven't found use for). The sound quality is superb, and there's a few equilizers built in that you can mess around with.
